The Galactic Republic

 

Space Units:

 

Pride of the Core (hero)

Mandator-class Star Dreadnoughts are rarely glimpsed outside of Kuati holdings; indeed, few exist in actual service. They are primarily a fabrication of the Kuati propaganda department, seized upon and blown up to ridiculous proportions by the Republic to cow Separatist sympathizers. But the Pride of the Core, a Mandator-class Star Dreadnought, Mark II, is very real and very dangerous. Measuring eight kilometers from bow to stern, with a ponderously sized ventral reactor bulge bloating its already impressive mass, it is a terrifying sight and an even more terrifying enemy, once it brings all its mighty guns to bear. It is in the direct service of the Republic navy under Admiral Kohl Seerdon.

Hero Dreadnought

Victory-class Star Destroyer

This starship is the first of the “Star Destroyers” - a new line of ships produced in junction between Rendili StarDrive and Kuat Drive Yards. This dagger-shaped Rendili cruiser is one of the most powerful ships ever intended for mass production. Although it is smaller than the Venator-class Star Destroyer, it boasts stronger shields and heavier offensive weaponry, although it is not as agile and carries considerably fewer starfighters.

Maneuverability - Increases ship speed and agility, making it temporarily handle more like a very large starfighter than a Star Destroyer

Heavy Battleship

 

Venator-class Star Destroyer

Following in the Victory’s durasteel-clad footsteps is the Venator-class Star Destroyer. A multipurpose cruiser, the Venator’s primary function is as a starfighter carrier, although it can also easily be pressed into duties as an attack cruiser, a command ship, a troop carrier, or even a planet bombardier. Larger but less heavily armed and armored than its Victory-class cousin, the Venator has become a symbol of the Republic military and is intended to serve it for quite some time to come.

SPHA Turbolaser - Fires a powerful, destructive energy beam

Light Battleship

 

Acclamator-class Assault Ship

Constructed by Rothana Heavy Engineering (a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards) for the purpose of carrying the Republic’s clone army around the galaxy, these massive troopships are moderately effective against enemy capital ships but highly vulnerable to bombing runs. Their turbolaser batteries, built to deal withering salvos to planetary surfaces, are also devastating against space stations.

Cruiser

 

Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser

Produced by Rendili StarDrive for some time predating the Clone Wars, the Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser is a medium ship-of-the-line, neither overly large nor overly armed, but it has become a staple of the Republic’s space navy. Used for many purposes, the Dreadnaught is a favorite of military commanders for its simple and plain multi-functionality.

Frigate

 

CR40 Cruiser (Republic Cruiser) (render)

Usually seen as a consular ship, the CR40 Cruisers have been outfitted with dual turbolaser turrets and concussion missile launchers in these dark times. The CR40 is a fast ship capable of striking into the heart of an enemy fleet, but it is fragile and can be quickly destroyed under heavy fire.

Corvette

 

CR20 Carrier (Clone Carrier) (render)

A lighter transport designed for insertion missions or troop landings not warranting the full compliment of an Acclamator-class Assault Ship, the CR20 Carrier is only very weakly armed, with short-range turbolaser weapons that are highly ineffective versus fighters and not powerful enough to do much against ships heavier than other transports. It carries a small load of troops that should be sufficient to overwhelm a small enemy outpost.

ARC-170 (render)

The Advanced ReConnaissance One-Seventy fighter/bomber is a three-man craft designed to give the enemy hell. It is powerfully outfitted with high-yield weaponry, and its only real weakness is that it is so heavily loaded as to be ponderous in combat and thus its agility suffers.

Heavy Fighter

 

V-19 Torrent (render)

A dedicated ground attack fighter, the V-19 Torrent is also moderately useful in dogfights and even capital ship attack runs. Despite its construction, intended to give it the sole purpose of ground assault, the V-19 has emerged as a highly versatile fighter favored by clone pilots. It also offers reasonable protection from enemy fire, making it an all-around well-rounded craft.

Abilities:

Switch Warheads - Switches between faster, anti-fighter concussion missiles and slower, anti-capital ship/space station proton torpedoes.

Light Fighter

 

Alpha-3 Nimbus (V-wing)

The V-wing starfighter is much more of a dedicated fighter than the V-19, but it also sacrifices protection. As with the Eta-2, the V-wing is easily destroyed if enemy shots connect, but can also fly at blinding speeds, making it a superb interceptor and a difficult enemy to shake from one’s tail.

NTB-630 Bomber

A fighter/bomber with emphasis on the “bomber”, the NTB-630 is built to withstand ferocious enemy attack and to deliver a punishing volley to enemy capital ships itself. Heavily shielded and armored, the NTB-630 is a heavily reinforced frame in which a full load of proton torpedoes is contained and excellently protected until the payload is delivered straight into an enemy warship’s flank. They are favorites of Republic commanders, and for good reason.

Bomber

Clone Trooper

A genetic duplicate of Jango Fett altered to be additionally obedient and also to have growth and development - both physical and mental - sped up by more than two times, these white-armored shock troopers are the grunt troops of the Republic. Bred to follow orders, to kill and keep order, the Clone Troopers are ultimately loyal to the highest figure of authority in the Galactic Republic, who is the Supreme Chancellor, although they will follow the orders of those whom he has appointed to lead them - the Jedi and the Republic’s regular military officers - without complaint as well.

Gun Infantry

 

ARC Trooper

These are the best of the best. Completely lacking any genetic modification outside of their growth acceleration and with the first wave trained by Jango Fett himself, the ARC Troopers are best suited to work independently, and they do this with extreme ease. Armed with repeating chain blaster rifles and PLX-1 missile launchers, they are fully capable of holding their own in almost any situation and are certainly well-equipped for taking on a whole legion of enemy infantry even without support.

Elite Infantry

 

Clone Commando

A special division of the clone infantry corps of the Grand Army of the Republic, the Clone Commandoes are trained for missions requiring stealth, speed, precision, and flawless execution. Separated into squads of four, raised together since their infancy, and outfitted with the best equipment that the Republic’s suppliers have to offer, the Clone Commandoes are a terrifying presence for anyone to face. They can inflict sabotage upon enemy bases discreetly as well.

Abilities:

Sniper Mode - Switches to sniper attachment and mode for thirty seconds

Anti-Armor Mode - Switches to anti-armor attachment and mode for thirty seconds

Minor Hero (Commando)

 

Clone Commander

Clone Commanders are few but skilled. Although they are not quite as good in combat as an ARC Trooper, they come close, and their leadership abilities more than make up for this slight deficit. Clone Commanders are quite literally born to lead, and with specialized ARC training as well as additional training in leadership ability, they are very, very good at this. Usually answering directly to either a Jedi General or a Republic Admiral, the Clone Commanders are ultimately loyal to the Supreme Chancellor and will always hasten to do his bidding.

Throw Grenade - Tosses an explosive grenade as an area-of-effect ranged attack

Minor Hero (Infantry)

 

Jedi Knight

The keepers of the peace, the Jedi Knights are of a mystical order of celibate magician-warriors who call upon an energy field known as simply “the Force” to guide them and provide their power. Jedi Knights are skilled combatants, fighting with a unique lightsaber weapon crafted by their own hands (or pincers, or tentacles, or other manipulating appendages). They can heal their allies in combat with the Force Heal ability.

Armament: Lightsaber (blue/green)

Abilities:

Force Heal - Restores a portion of nearby allied units’ health

Minor Hero (Jedi)

 

LAAT/i Gunship (render)

This troop transport can also serve as a ground attack gunship, as its name might imply. Equipped with devastating weaponry, the LAAT/i is weak against enemy starfighters but powerful against even anti-air emplacements on the ground. It is best used in ground attack, as it can disembark troops into dangerous positions while holding its own by itself.

Gunship

 

BARC Speeder

Better armored than the 74-Z military speeder bikes favored by the Jedi, the BARC Speeders are deployed to track enemy positions and to engage them if necessary. Their dual blaster cannons are easily sufficient to crush enemy troops and even to inflict significant damage upon lighter enemy vehicles. Their speed is as well hard to match.

Scout

 

AT-RT

These open-air walkers are best suited to recon missions, though they are also often pressed into duty as attack walkers. Vulnerable to attack from the air, their drivers have enough armor to resist small-arms fire fairly well; however, this makes them cumbersome and somewhat limits the vehicle’s speed and maneuverability. They tower over enemy infantry but their spindly legs make rocket attacks nearly always fatal for them.

Light Attack Walker

 

AT-PT **Upgrade Unit**

Highly preferable to the rather idiotically designed AT-RT walker, the AT-PT is faster, more heavily armored and better armed. Their performance is excellent and AT-PTs are expected to serve, even in limited number, for a while yet to come. The little walkers can also deploy concussion grenades in case of significant threat. They are upgrades for the AT-RT.

Light Attack Walker

 

TX-130S Saber-class Fighter Tank

Fairly speedy, moderately well armored, and maneuverable, these light Fighter Tanks are a favorite of the Jedi and popular with clone drivers as well. With enough armament to pound most enemy vehicles to a pulp, these craft are an integral part of the Grand Army of the Republic’s war machine, deployed in most conflicts and always performing admirably. TX-130S tanks are expected to serve in the military in one form or another for decades to come.

Light Tank

 

Juggernaut Turbo Tank (render)

The “rolling slab”, as some call it, is oversized, bulky, simple, and highly intimidating. Measuring nearly fifty meters in length and reinforced with enough armor to make the average bunker look like flimsiplast, the Juggernaut Turbo Tank is basic but effective. It can transport many troops across the battlefield and demolish entire enemy positions with little support. Its only weakness is from the air; on the ground, it is simply unstoppable.

Rocket Bombardment - Pelts a group of enemies briefly with rockets

AT-AP

A powerful attack walker, the AT-AP is not the size or strength of its AT-TE cousin, but it makes a decent artillery platform for base assaults even if it is not designed for anti-vehicular combat. It can extend a third leg like a tripod to stabilize it while it fires its heavy projectile cannon, which is of roughly the same make as the projectile cannon found atop the AT-TE.

Light Assault Walker

 

AT-TE (render)

This heavy walker is as distinctive a symbol of Republic authority as is the Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Eta-2 Actis Interceptor, the LAAT/i Gunship, and the Clone Troopers themselves. Built by Rothana Heavy Engineering, the AT-TE is designed to do everything related to ground combat. Armed with a heavy projectile cannon for cracking open fortified enemy bunkers (and turret-mounted to allow it to track and destroy enemy vehicles as well) and six anti-personnel blaster turrets, it can also function as an armored troop transport and be delivered itself by LAAT/c Gunships.

Heavy Assault Walker

 

SPHA-T

Monstrously large and armed with a turbolaser that would put a capital ship’s firepower to shame, the twelve-legged SPHA-T walkers are instrumental in any major attacks on enemy bases. While probably overkill for dealing with smaller outposts and absurdly ill-used in vehicular combat, they have a distinct and valuable role in annihilating even the toughest of enemy structures in instants.

Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter (hero) (render)

Offering somewhat better protection than the Eta-2, the Delta-7 is favored by the less reckless Jedi in the Order. It is also not as fast or heavily armed, although it can still hold its own against enemy fighters quite well. They can, like the Eta-2, dock with a hyperdrive ring to move independently between star systems without the use of a fighter carrier per se. This fighter belongs to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Abilities:

Spare Parts Canister - Decreases nearby enemies’ accuracy for a short time

 

Obi-Wan’s Jedi Interceptor (hero) **Upgrade Unit** (render)

Small, compact, and fast, the shieldless Eta-2 Jedi Interceptors have become a distinctive symbol of Republic and Jedi authority, even on lawless worlds in the Outer Rim. Favored by many of the more daring Jedi Knights and even Masters, most of them young (with exceptions; Mace Windu and Saesee Tiin have been known to fly in these craft), piloting a Jedi Interceptor is truly an act of fearlessness, for one direct hit will blast it apart. This russet-trimmed fighter belongs to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Anakin’s Azure Angel (hero)

This heavily modified fighter belongs to Anakin Skywalker. It began life as a Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter, but its owner tweaked it out and modified it considerably, making it a force to be reckoned with. No pun intended.

Abilities:

Invulnerability - Allows temporary imperviousness to damage

 

Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor (hero) **Upgrade Unit**

Yoda’s Vandar (hero)

A huge Acclamator-class Assault Ship (Mark II), the Vandar brought Jedi Master Yoda to Geonosis and is his personal flagship on the rare occasions when he does battle on the front lines. It is more heavily armed and shielded than the standard Acclamator-class ship, and is more agile as well.

Abilities:

Battle Meditation - Increases allied attack and accuracy and decreases enemy attack and accuracy

 

Alpha’s Y-wing (hero)

A new design from the trusted shipbuilders at Koensayr, the Y-wing has only been produced in limited numbers so far due to some difficulty with weaponry, and so the NTB-630 naval bomber is currently filling its intended role of anti-capital ship bomber within the Republic fleet. However, the Koensayr Y-wings have been collected into a small fleet reserved for the service of the Republic’s elite ARC Troopers. This particular fighter, personalized with blue patterns across its hull shell, belongs to Alpha.

Ion Blast - Deals heavy damage to enemy shielding

 

Padmé’s Nubian Yacht & Naboo N-1 Starfighters (hero)

Constructed by the Nubian ship architects and sold into the service of Naboo, this space yacht is the personal transport of Padmé Amidala, Naboo’s Senator and primary representative in the Galactic Senate of the Republic. It is sleek, fast, and not overly conspicuous despite its silver chromium finish. However, in keeping with Naboo pacifistic traditions, it has no weapons and must rely on other, armed ships for escort. This craft belongs to Padmé Amidala.

Delta Squad’s CR25 Carrier

The CR25 Carrier closely resembles the CR20 Carrier. It is used for the mission of insertion; this particular transport serves the commando unit known as Delta Squad, landing them onto planets in strategic locations. It is vulnerable to attack and should be defended.

Abilities:

Astromech Repair - Heals a large amount of damage rapidly

 

Obi-Wan Kenobi (hero)

He is the only Jedi to have killed a Sith in a thousand years. A shining example of the quintessential Jedi, Obi-Wan follows the Jedi Code without question, obeying the will of the Force and the will of the Jedi Council. He is Master and friend to the volatile Anakin Skywalker, the prophesied Chosen One. Obi-Wan Kenobi has only violated the Code intentionally on rare occasions - one time on Melida/Daan as a Jedi Padawan, leaving the Jedi Order for a planetary interest, and again when he explored his feelings for fellow apprentice Siri Tachi. He is a strong and all-around Jedi combatant.

Abilities:

Force Push - Shoves a group of enemies backwards with the Force, damaging them

Mount Boga - Calls upon Boga to ride on for a speed increase and attack reduction

 

Anakin Skywalker (hero) (render)

The Chosen One, the Hero Without Fear, the Jedi Poster Boy. Anakin Skywalker is known by all of these names. He is possibly the best star pilot in the galaxy, certainly among the most powerful Jedi, and to top it off, is handsome enough to make women of almost every humanoid species swoon all across the galaxy. But Anakin harbors some secrets of his own. He slaughtered an entire village of Tusken Raiders on Tatooine acting out of vengeance - and he is secretly married to Padmé Amidala, the Senator of Naboo. Anakin is an aggressive fighter who is especially effective against the Sith.

Abilities:

Dual Wield - Calls another lightsaber to hand for dual wielding to increase attack speed

Saber Throw - Throws a lightsaber like a boomerang as a ranged attack

 

Mace Windu (hero)

A great Jedi Master from the Korun tribe of Haruun Kal, Mace Windu is the most powerful Jedi warrior in the Order, although he will readily admit that his wisdom is far surpassed by Grand Master Yoda, the leader of the Jedi Council. Mace is among a group of skeptics of Anakin Skywalker being the Chosen One of prophecy, and he has never gotten along well with the younger Jedi. Mace is a strong but reluctant military leader and an intimidating sight on the battlefield. He can see “shatterpoints” in the Force that lend him clarity as to what the future may hold.

Force Impose - Imposes will to disable enemy units temporarily, including droids

Shatterpoint - Increases attack drastically for a short time

 

Yoda (hero)

The wisest of the Jedi, Yoda is the Grand Master of the Jedi Order and leader of the Jedi Council. He has lived for well over eight hundred years and yet still possesses an “inner child” of his own, which is possibly what allows him to get along so well with the Jedi younglings in the Temple that he instructs. Master Yoda may be diminutive at only two-thirds of a meter’s height, but he is a powerful Jedi in battle and moves with a Force-assisted acrobatic speed that belies his age and his feebleness outside of combat.

Abilities:

Reflect - Turns back enemy offensive abilities onto them

Force Agility - Increases speed immensely for a medium length of time

 

Alpha-17 (hero)

ARC Trooper A-17, or Alpha as he has been nicknamed, is a loyal clone trooper of the Republic with enough combat experience to know that blind loyalty may not be as beneficial as the ability to think independently and innovate in unexpected situations. Alpha is outfitted with all the latest in Republic technology, including an upgraded DC-18 ARC blaster rifle, reverse-polarity grenades, and a PLX-1 portable missile launching system.

Padmé Amidala (hero)

The Senator and former Queen of Naboo, Padmé Amidala has been in enough firefights to know her way around them. Delta Squad (hero)

Delta Squad is an assembly of four of the finest Clone Commandos in service: RC-1138 “Boss”, RC-1140 “Fixer”, RC-1207 “Sev”, and RC-1262 “Scorch”. Boss is the leader of the squad, while Fixer is its tech expert, Sev is its sniper, and Scorch is its demolitions expert. They have seen a lot of action and have been trained well.
