modding and gaming are similar concepts, so if you're gonna call me stupid, take a look at yourself. Again, effort to put into modeling is similar in gaming and modding.

Preemptive strike as its called... You know... Plus, I'm trying to make sure this doesn't end up like all the other ME threads, locked by Dwedge.

[post edited by Arabian Knight] I'm fully aware of that; hence why I laughed in the first place.

Rofl, I'd love to see how you have done something remotely like a mod.

I was often a beta tester for Jedi Academy mods. Texture and Model files were far smaller than new MP3 files, as sound storage takes far more space than 1240x1240 textures and generally low-poly models. Have I built any myself? No. I have however, worked very closely with the producers of mods, and have studied this subject extensively. As for your modding experience, you have also not created new models, textures or sounds. Thus far I have only seen code modifications from you. I too have done this, and I concede not being very good at it, but I did successfully add at least two units to a game once. Really, that kind of modding is just routing and data editing. You don't have much room to talk. Should you have made models or textures, please present them for proof of how exactly you know more than us.

Oh please, the only reason why I didn't model was that EaW was incompatible with my modeling program, bloom. the EaW models are low size because it's a low quality game. Up the ante, and you get models that require more time and more effort along with the textures. If you want to see true modeling, check HL2 files, CoD files, Star Trek Legacy, etc. Too lazy to pull one of mine up atm cause it's so damn early. And this shit was before I started working on EaW
By the way, I love the OOC insults you're throwing at me, really determines your maturity for your age

John, calm down. Daru is being quite calm to this point, and I would like to see the same from you. Even if he insults you, do not acknowledge it. Just move on, and whomever throws the insult will look like a fool for everyone else.
I cannot speak for the Unreal Engine (because extracting ME meshes is very difficult for me), but a very high quality armor I just downloaded is 5.5 megabytes in size. Remember, that is high quality (and by that, I mean complex, with many extra protruding pieces and such), and it's an armor, which is much larger than a weapon would be. If size was truly an issue, then the developers could recycle animations. A typical Skyrim voice file? 10 megs. Now not all sounds take up enormous space, but recorded dialogue are typically large. And this is Mass Effect, so there would be LOTS of those.
