RPG elements...by that, I mean mostly the inventory system. Such things as vendors and the multitude of weapons were what made combat strategic. Not to mention that combat was far too generi in ME2-character class mattered little, unlike ME1. The game was fine for me, since i normally play as a Soldier, but Biotics really got shortchanged. Unless you played as a Soldier, combat was much more difficult. Leveling up was all focused on combat, not combat and outside skills. It seemed to me that were fewer missions, but the reduction in content was expected considering the amount of work that had to be done to insure that imported saves all worked correctly.
Story is not necessarily an RPG feature. A great story is simply a feature of a great game.

How the fuck were biotics shortchanged, playing as a vanguard never felt more fun with biotic charge.

That is my personal opinion. It is difficult to put into words, but it felt as if you either played "Soldier" or "Soldier with one or two specials." Not much fundamental difference.
But as I said, that is my opinion. The other points are certainly stronger.

of course not dumbass, soldier is meant to focus on weapons. What other powers should it have other than a grenade-like rocket and an intensified aim? It's MEANT to rely on weapons and less on powers. Otherwise, soldier would just be overpowered.
Powers were done better in every way in ME2, because each class was actually unique. The only missing element I felt in that game was the lack of exploration, but other than that it was quite enjoyable.
AK, you need to take a second look at the game. ME2 gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself. You at times are tempted to go dark and be a criminal, while when you resist as a paragon it feels so damn good. ME1 was just bland in-your-face action with RPG, and the renegade elements weren't nearly as fun. So overall, your point is invalid

Let's avoid outright slander here... I don't feel like having to deal with the repercussions of another ME topic being banned. We already lost a member over the last one.

How about avoiding over moderation? there's a difference between actually stopping a flame war and simply sticking your stick out just cause you see some banter. If you're gonna wear that moderator mask, use it correctly

I was recently called out for being... lacking... in my moderation... multiple times. I'm done with that. I'm in a no nonsense mood, thank you very much.

It's fine to keep an eye on a thread, but as I said waving your stick in and out of it is just plain stupid
