Wow, I'm a bit late to this. Ha, well time to brag. I got a nice vacation to Florida from my parents and some nice amount of money from my grandparents which turned into Modern Warefare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and a $3 Pink Floyd vinyl. I treated myself to a special gift with my job's bonus checks...one of my favorite bands, The String Cheese Incident's Trick or Treat epic box set of 7 epic Hulaween Incidents from 1998 to 2004. I'm psyched.

a Les Paul Special 2. its a cheap one. the amp is nice though haha. i just wish i could tune it down to drop B

I've never done drop B myself, but I have experimented with the drop D. Anyhow, it sounds like your interested in metal. I like stealing some techniques from some metalheads I've seen. One great way to learn how to do stuff is by watching your favorite guitarist and pay attention to his fingers and motions. Good thing today you live in a period where we have easy access to videos with hot internet sites like youtube and googlevideo.

Oh, and if you haven't done so already, I highly suggest investing into an electric tuner.

haha yeah, youtube rocks. yeah im a metal head. and ive been playing the cello for about 9 years, so i got an electric tuner and stuff.

LOL my Shector is tuned to Bb Standard right now, It handles it like its E standard.

I think I may have actually drop B once or twice, I'm not too sure, really...

Electric tunders are great for people who think they can tune by ear, but always end up flat. Like me.

I mean, yeah. I can tune by ear, but I always end up on a flat note. DAMNIT.

i tune by ear. i only use my electric tuner for my high e string, and then i can tune on from that. haha thats nice. do you use higher gauge strings blackhawk?

The ones on that guitar are medium-heavy, but it's just the way Schecters are. They handle a low tuning very well for some reason.

I tune the lowest string electronically then the rest by ear.

But if you mean, like, if I'm in the middle of a song and I'm like "OMG I r out of tunez!" then yes, I do tune by ear.

yeah, i just got some thicker strings and raised my bridge a little, and all the lower tunings sound good now. my strings are black to haha

Depends on how good of a guitar you want. A GOOD quality used guitar could run from $300-$700.

I have a Epiphone Les Paul Special 2 guitar. its only about 170 or less, and its not ot bad. a good beginner guitar. I put some new strings on mine to and that made it even better haha.
