You guys are quite the resilient ones, aren't you? I'm so amazed by the continued activity and interest on these forums.
Here's the deal. Bryant and I have basically fell off the face of the planet. Our contributions to the mod have been minimal to say the least. My interest in EaW has been decaying as my spare computer-time has been occupied by another project completely mod-unrelated (a social networking site I encourage you all to check out,
http://www.fantour.org).
However, there is still hope. Swgbex continues to pull us along here (he's the only one really), continuing to code and build the mod using all the art our modelers and skinners have created over the past couple years. It seems like he is definitely making advances, and he deserves all the credit here for keep this mod alive. He has said that he plans on making a "state of the mod" news post for all of you in the next couple days. I hope that indeed happens, and I will certainly push to make sure it does. I do want to warn you though that I did see the latest code he had done as of several months ago, and there was still A LOT of work to be done as far as coding and implimentation.
I will definitely remain here to hold up the IA name and provide swgbex with whatever resources he needs to continue the project. But unless something magical and incredibly far-reach happens in the near future (like LucasArts offering us a deal to market this mod or something of that nature), you can expect my participation to remain, minimal.
I really apologize for my personal lacking here, none of you deserve this slacking off.
IA2, like any mod, really depends on those willing to put in the immense time, effort, and initiative to do the job for their enjoyment. Right now, that is only swgbex. For that, he is awesome.
May the force be with us.

Good to hear from you Edan!

I was wondering why dont you guys recruit a couple of people from the community to help code? It could really help speed up the mod and it will take some pressure off of Swgbex.

We can definitely try that. However, as soon as you have a team of people, unless they are as highly motivated as swgbex (which is extremely rare), they need to not only be continually given assignments and directed, but also consistently nagged by AIM/MSN to be doing their jobs. This was always the part of modding that I hated...
If we find one or two other coders that swgbex can work with though, he may be able to handle it.

Yeah, i think you should like open a recruitment Topic like make a formal News update and try to get someone to help. Im sure there are plenty of people to do it because lots of people have been asking to help.

Yep, that would be nice.
If I can do anything with my abilities to help then I'll be happy to (testing etc, even coding if you tell me what to do, I've looked over the FOC xmls before and have mucked around with a few things in z3r0x's mod successfully)

Battlestar Galactica Colonial Wars would like to offer any help we can give.
If so Edan i can take care of the Press Releations of stuff if you want me to i can handle it as i run the Mod Battlestar Galactica Colonial Wars and spend most of my days sorting things out and another few webpages isnt going to change anything is it.

I happen to be a fairly talented coder. The only problem is I am working on a mod of my own of the exact same nature as IA2. I wish I could help, I really do, but I can't. I feel sorry for SWbex. But hey, at least he has plenty of models.

Holy crap! A news post! That alone is news

. Anyways, nice to know you're still around Edan. And cheers to swgbex. I would offer my skills to help the mod however it seems that that part is done so I probably wouldn't be that much help. Unless there is still need for a modeler?

If we can spark new interest in this mod, we'd probably be one of the best out there. All we need is to re-create the team, and add some moderators to kind of convey the news to the members and watch over the place.

OOO OOO, i could be a moderator and they dont even have to make me a part of the team!!! That would be awesome if i had that kind of power. Plus it would be a good idea to give it to me because im very very active on these forums. I make sure to get on everyday and post like 20 times

I also recommend DarthByron, Edan. He is very skilled at what he does.

Sorry I'm late to responding to this suprise news post...I have really painful chubby cheeks from getting my wisdom teeth out

. Thank you Edan for being honest with us. Your honesty will save this mod. It seems that people are lining up to help you finish this mod. I wish I could be one of them, but I don't mod. I could, however, beta test the game and let you know what could be fixed and so on.
Everyone here must realize that we have a one-of-a-kind mod in our hands that will rock the gaming world and bring interest back into EaW...at least temporarly once the mod is complete.

Never ask to be a mod. It'll ruin all your chances of becoming one.

People will either get hand picked, or this place goes even further downhill because nobody can keep the place in line. Don't worry, Edan/whoever will most likely pick new team members.

Whew I was beginning to get worried. I was beginning to think that this mod was going to become dead. However don't lose faith because as I'm sure you guys have already noticed, there are A LOT of people that want to see the mod completed and are here to support you guys. I would help if I knew a single bit of coding/modelling.

Any New Moderators would probably be active and experienced members of the forum community, and probably go through a test or somthing. For some people with, like, 3 posts, well, sorry.

It's nice to see that there is still some progress, be it by only one person, swbex is awesome, and i wish him the bets of luck with this mod, i hope that people do spark intrest to join the team as it would talk a great load off of bex, i would help, but the only thing i'm good at is mapping (i think), i can code a tiny little bit, but thats not enough experience to join this mod, yes i do realize i have created a small wall of text, and i'll say what i said at the start, it's nice to know the mods alive.

Ok seriously Peter was this at all necessary? You were put on moderation for post approval from this report:

Spammed in a thread 4 months old. He has been here for a bit and should know the rules.
And this post is over a year. I took you off that post moderation, now you run off and violate the rules again? That is defiantly not acceptable and I think that will put you on moderation approval for a good long while or eternity.
Sev is not impressed.
